At Start Me Up Niagara (SMUN), we offer a variety of programming in the St Catharines, Queenston community that assists people who are marginalized by poverty, trauma, and the experiences of homelessness, mental health and addictions issues. Support from the community assists us in hosting participants in our centre for desperately needed respite.
On a daily basis, members of our community are left without the basic needs for survival such as: food, cleaning drinking water, clothing, and shelter. We rely on the generosity of people like yourself to help us continue serving the homeless and hungry in our community. Due to COVID-19 and as we are entering into colder weather, there is increased demand for the essential supports and services available at SMUN. We would not be able to respond to the needs of our community without our community supporters.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, our participants need our help more now than ever before due to these new impacts. We have a COVID-19 emergency fund which will help us provide proper safety measures to help keep everyone in our facilities healthy. Items such as hand sanitizer, face coverings, cleaning supplies, and soap are an example of ongoing items we use on a frequent daily basis. We thank all of our supporters for helping us navigate these uncertain times.
